Warning Description: Winter Storm Warning

Warning Date: 4:23 PM EST on February 9, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning Remains In Effect Until 7 Am Est
Thursday...

Warning Message:A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday.
An Arctic front will move across the area tonight. Behind the
front...snow will increase again in coverage and
intensity...mainly later tonight into Wednesday night. Gusty
northwest winds over 30 mph at times...with gusts over 40 mph in
the higher elevations...will cause some blowing and drifting of
the snow.
Total snow accumulations for the event will generally range from
6 to 12 inches...with higher amounts possible in the higher
elevations...before snow tapers off Wednesday night.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous...especially tonight
through Wednesday night. Only travel in an emergency. If you must
travel...keep an extra flashlight... food...and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
